Google Drive folder FA2

To start today I want to have everyone create a folder in their Google Drive for this class.  I dont really care what you call it, but just like a folder on a computer works the folder in your Google Drive will help you stay organized - youll be able to keep all of the formatting activities in this one spot and then know where your information is in case something happens.

We will then start working on FA2 - the purpose of this formatting activity is to help you understand the difference between Save and Save As.

SLC conference folder covers

Today we are going to spend the hour working on the SLC Computer Apps sheet, and creating a SLC folder cover.

The Computer Apps folder sheet is green, and it needs to be filled out.  I will be handing out your crossword puzzle from last week so that you can use it for a portfolio example; you could also print out any of the vocab quizzes we have taken, or if you have any of your formatting activities you could also print them out as a portfolio example.

Here are the things that I want you to include on the folder cover:

At the top include the day and time of your conference.  Create this in a large sized font.

Next, you can include 2 images in your document.  These images should reflect one of three things:  something that you like about school (lunch or lunch recess do not count), challenges that school presents on a daily basis, or hobbies you have. You can only have one of each of the three different areas.

Once you print out the cover you can tape it to the manila folder.

How to Create Folder CON

Ever tried to create a folder "CON" or "AUX" or "NUL".

Tried now???  - not working :)

Here you go, a simple method to  stop your anxiety

Rename folder from the right click option........
Now press alt and press 255...
press 255 frm the right side of the key bords i.e, Num pad.
where only numbers are given.....
now write con and then press enter.....yayyy!!
you ll see a con folder in ur pc
and also you can delete it easily.

Why Folder Options Not Showing

How to get folder option back

You maybe worried that why folder options are not showing. Its a silly virus which modify your registry files and remove the folder options from tools menu. Today at free computer tips I will teach you how you can get Folder Options back.

Open Start menu and from there select Run type gpedit.msc and hit enter now in the Group Policy window, from the left pane, select user configuration; Administrative Templates; windows components; Windows Explorer by high lighting it with the mouse cursor and now in the right side you will see an option which says "Removes the Folder Options menu item from the Tools menu right click on this option and select properties now in the properties under Setting tab, select Disabled and hit OK

Alternate Method

Open run and type gpedit.msc then go to user configuration ; administrative templates ;system disable "prevent access to registry editing tools".

Recover missing Folder option

Many of us sometimes find the folder options missing in windows explorer.

Heres the solution
Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto
User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.

Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen
"Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu"

Just check it,

if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.
